Swing Traders Forum
Hello And Welcome To The Forum!
I created this forum to help out new traders and to learn from other traders. I wish you the best of success in your trading endeavors.
Ok, first of all some rules...
Forum Don'ts
- This is a "friendly forum". The key word is friendly. Lets keep it that way and make this forum a place where traders can come to post questions and comments without fear of someone biting their head off! Please be respectful and courteous to all members.
- No penny stocks. Sorry, but there are plenty of forums for pumping up worthless stocks to the masses. This forum is not one of them! Your post WILL be deleted.
- You may not advertise your business or website in the forum until you have at least 50 posts. You have to give before you can expect to receive.
- Watch the language. Please keep your language clean and decent. If you wouldn't talk that way to your Mother then your post will probably get deleted!
Forum Do's
- Pay it forward. If you learned something on this forum or someone helped you, then YOU owe it to the forum to help someone out also! Help. And be helped.
- Help the new traders! Remember: YOU were once one also. Please take the time to respond to the posts by people new to trading stocks.
- Post your message in the right forum. We gotta keep it all organized!
- Spread the word. Tell all of your trading friends about this forum. This forum will only be as good as the number of members that we can recruit!
There is no more noble occupation in the world than to assist another human being - to help someone succeed. - Alan Loy McGinnis, Author
Posting Stock Charts
Wanna post a chart in your message? Follow these steps:
- First you will have to save your chart on your computer. There are many ways to do this and different programs to use to save an image on your computer. I use this free program: ScreenPrint32. Please keep your charts small so it doesn't disrupt the width of the forum. Please, nothing wider than 760 pixels. To see how wide your image is, right click on the image and select properties.
- After you get the chart on you computer, go to Imageshack. Once you are there click on browse, find your chart and select it, then click on "host it".
- You will then be taken to the hotlink page. Scroll down to where it says, "Direct Link To Image". Use CTRL-C to copy the link. Then when you are composing your post, click on the button at the top that says, "IMG". It will ask you for the image location. Use CTRL-V to past the link into the box. Then click ok. Your chart is now embedded into your message! Note: On some browsers you will not see the IMG button. Instead, you will have to insert the code manually. Click on the link that says, "Posting How-To" at the bottom of the New Topic page for help on this.
- Make sure you preview your post before you actually post it to make sure it looks right.
RSS/XML
At the bottom right of the forum you will see two orange buttons labeled "XML". These labels are for your RSS feed. What's an RSS feed you ask?
It's "the next big thing" -- you can use it to get news feeds from CNN or BBC, as well as just about anything else, including news on upcoming movies, DVD releases, your favorite musician's tour updates, etc.
Once you get started, it's like having your favorite parts of the Web come to you. No need to go out and check for updates all the time.
"RSS" means "Really Simple Syndication." What it means to you is that when you subscribe to a site that has an RSS feed, you can keep up-to-date without having to check the site every day or week.
The xml buttons are standard sign up buttons for RSS feeds. Users with RSS software installed can register for your forum's feed by clicking on one of the buttons, and then any new posts in your forum will show as new content in their daily RSS digest. The button on the left opens a standard rss document in html format. The button on the right automatically installs the feed in the user's RSS application if it is running.
If you do not have RSS software you can add the feed directly to your "My Yahoo" or to your "My MSN" account. If you need help setting this up just let me know and I will walk you through it.
Forum Titles
You are assigned a title based on the number of posts that you have.

25 posts - Veteran Trader
100 posts - Senior Trader
500 posts - Master Trader
That's about it folks. Oh yeah, there is also an arcade if you get bored. There is a list of links to various pages on Swing-Trade-Stocks.com and other resources that I use.
I hope these forums are helpful to your trading!
